Visiting Newport Hospital

Visiting Hours

Family members and friends are welcome to visit with patients at Newport Hospital. 

Regular visiting hours 

• 2-8 p.m. daily, including weekends and holidays.

Depending on a patient's health status, visiting hours may be restricted or limited. Visitors should call the hospital's patient information line at 401-845-1640 to confirm visiting hours for patients who are critically ill.

Birthing Center visiting hours

Birthing partners may visit anytime. We must limit visiting children to siblings of the newborn only. All other visitors are welcome from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Based on the desires of the mother, and for her safety and comfort, visiting hours will be followed consistently.

Smoking Policy

The Newport Hospital campus is smoke free. Newport Hospital is committed to promoting the good health of our employees and patients. Passive smoke is detrimental to health, so our policy designates the entire Newport Hospital campus — both inside and outside
the hospital — smoke free.
