  • About the Frederick Henry Prince Memorial Fund

  • Promoting athletic activity and wellness among the youth and families of Newport County

    In December 2010, a $3 million grant from the Frederick Henry Prince 1932 Trust was conferred to Newport Hospital by Elizabeth Prince of Newport and her children, Guillaume de Ramel, Diana Oehrli and Régis de Ramel. This munificent donation resulted in the creation of the Frederick Henry Prince Memorial Fund at Newport Hospital.

    The goals of the Fund are to promote health and wellness among youth and families of Newport County; to combat child and adolescent obesity through the encouragement of participation in athletic activities (including both indoor and outdoor and competitive athletics); to combat the abuse of alcohol and drugs; and to promote the emotional and psychological well being of Newport County youth and their families.

    The FHP Memorial Fund was established in partnership with Newport Hospital to accomplish the following charitable purposes:

    • Promote health and wellness among youth and families of Newport County;

    • Combat child and adolescent obesity through the encouragement of participation in athletic activities (including both indoor and outdoor and competitive athletics);
